An introduction to the safe use and handling of pesticides is presented. Under current law, all persons using pesticides must be certified as an applicator; the basic information is provided for persons seeking state certification. Included are detailed discussions of pesticide labeling explaining the parts of pesticide container labels. Various methods of pesticide handling are discussed. Safety clothing and equipment required for proper handling are featured. Methods for the mixing, application, and disposal of pesticides are discussed. The toxic effects to man and their first aid treatment are also included. Strict attention to instructions on the label is stressed throughout the manual.
