Abstract
The molecular structure, chemical abstracts service number, registry of toxic effects of chemical substances number, production figures and economic trends, uses, and producer and user data are given for m-nitrophenol (554847), o-nitrophenol (88755), p-nitrophenol (100027), 2,4-dinitrophenol (51285), 2,6-dinitriphenol (573568), and 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (88891). The biological effects of exposure are described, including target organs, acute, subchronic and chronic effects and human effects. 2,4-dinitrophenol is mutagenic and teratogenic; all the compounds affect many organs. The only threshold limit value given is 0.1 milligram per cubic meter for 2,4,6-trinitrophenol. (Contract No 210-77-0120)
