Abstract
A review of health records and death certificates for duPont Corporation employees exposed to chloroprene revealed no carcinogenic risk associated with chloroprene (126998). Studies in the Yerevan region of Russia indicated a considerably higher risk of skin cancer and lung cancer for persons working with chloroprene. NIOSH is initiating in cooperation with the duPont Corporation to provide better estimates of the role of chloroprene as a carcinogen.
