Abstract
The validity of the fundamental concept of dose is explored as it relates to noise exposure and particularly as dose concept is promulgated in the OSHA Act of 1970. Some basic physiological evidence is cited to suggest that the concept is not valid as currently conceived and a suggestion is made about how to test the hypothesis of a generalized noise-dose concept.
