Abstract
Review and evaluation of sampling methods, particularly in relation to uniformity and reliability, determining working levels of radon daughters in uranium mines. Topics include history of radioactive decay and working levels; reasons for sampling, and estimates of exposure and guidelines for control; errors introduced by variation in technique; comparative sampling; and checking and calibration of survey meters, field pumps, and other sampling equipment.
