Reuse Protocol for NIOSH Approved CBRN APR

IAA DHS/FEMA CE11-011 - FY11

Objective

  • To assist the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in the development of guidelines for the use and reuse of NIOSH-approved CBRN Air-Purifying Respirators (APRs) and accompanying Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), increase the CDP's laboratory analytical capabilities, and enhance worker and trainee protection to support the training objectives of the Chemical, Ordnance, Biological, and Radiological Training Facility at the CDP in Anniston, Alabama.

  • Establish respirator selection criteria and evaluation of commercially available NIOSH-approved CBRN respirators and their integration with NFPA-complaint ensembles.
