Improve selection, use and maintenance of NIOSH approved CBRN respirators ultimately reducing incidences of respiratory related injury for more than 4 million career and volunteer corrections, emergency medical, fire fighting, law enforcement and essential follow-on responders.
Provide technical, training and analytical support service in the development of guidance documents related to the selection, use and maintenance of personal protective equipment including NIOSH CBRN approved CBRN respirators.
Task #1 - Research, develop and document needs requirements and existing gaps in information necessary to develop effective training programs on CBRN respirator selection, usage, and maintenance.
Task #2 - Finalize seven (7) NPPTL draft training and guidance documents.
Task #3 - Produce a CBRN Respiratory Protective Device Handbook.
Task #4 - Provide facilitators and note takers to adequately cover each of the breakouts sessions and to draft Proceedings of the NIOSH PPT Program Third Annual Stakeholder Meeting.

Enable responders (law enforcement, corrections officers, firefighting, and emergency medical services) to comply with NFPA 472 and 473 standards and OSHA 29CFR1910.120 training requirements and support industrial hygienists and other occupational safety and health professionals to prepare respiratory protection programs which comply with 29CFR1910.134 requirements.
