Applicable Standards

  • None

Key Partners

  • University of Minnesota

Stakeholders

  • Respirator users
  • Researchers
  • Respirator manufacturers

Project Scope

  • Workshop that brings together respirator manufacturers, researchers (anthropometrics, materials, industrial hygiene, etc) , government policy experts, and users to discuss the research needs and challenges associated with developing an FFR with enhanced fitting characteristics
  • Final report from the workshop and recommendations for research that would improve the fitting characteristics of FFR

Milestones

  • Q1 Conduct workshop
  • Q2 Receive draft final report from Minnesota
  • Q3 Accept final report from contractor

Outputs

  • Workshop on Research needed to achieve a “No-fit-test” filtering-facepiece respirator
  • Final report describing the current state of the art, and recommended research priorities

Outcomes

  • This information is used by manufacturers to develop better fitting respirators
  • Research organizations (NPPTL, OEP, etc) will use this information to prioritize research needs
