Project Scope
- Workshop that brings together respirator manufacturers, researchers (anthropometrics, materials, industrial hygiene, etc) , government policy experts, and users to discuss the research needs and challenges associated with developing an FFR with enhanced fitting characteristics
- Final report from the workshop and recommendations for research that would improve the fitting characteristics of FFR
Milestones
- Q1 solicit bids
- Q2 award to a contractor to organize workshop and produce a final report
- Q3 literature review (unique sealing surfaces, sealing indicators, anthropometrics, etc.)
- Q4 Conduct workshop at NPPTL (or Pittsburgh area)
|
Outputs
- Workshop on Research needed to achieve a “No-fit-test” filtering-facepiece respirator
- Final report describing the current state of the art, and recommended research priorities
Outcomes
- This information is used by manufacturers to develop better fitting respirators
- Research organizations (NPPTL, OEP, etc) will use this information to prioritize research needs
