Project Scope


  • Determine performance requirements and develop test methods, product specifications, practices, guides, classifications, and terminology related to worker and emergency responder protective clothing and equipment.

Milestones

  • NPPTL membership on the ASTM F23/E54 Task Group for Law Enforcement PPE Standards
  • New NPPTL work package "Standard Practice for Determination of the Physical Response of the Wear to Protective Ensembles
  • New NPPTL work package for Air-Feed Suit performance specification development

Outputs

  • New ASTM Standard Test for Man-In-Simulant (MIST) for Protective Ensembles

Outcomes

  • Reduction in dermal hazards
