Surveillance of Programs Using Respirators (SPUR) PP16 - FY06

Objective

  • This project will evaluate and improve respirator use in the construction industry, as well as evaluating the interface of respirators with other PPE. The project will develop interventions that address shortcomings in current respiratory protection programs. The success of those interventions will be evaluated to demonstrate an improved level of protection provided to respirator wearers.

Milestones

  • Protocol including questionnaires nearly complete - submit to HSRB in May
  • NORA project DSR-proposed FY07 National Safety and Health Assessment of Road Construction (NSHARC) Decision in September 2006. Preliminary work on questionnaire has been started by SPUR project personnel.
