The University of Minnesota's Center for Diesel Research (CDR) prepared this report under contract number USDI/1432 C0369004. It was administered under the technical direction of the Pittsburgh Research Center with Dr. Bruce K. Cantrell acting as Technical Project Officer. Mr. Joseph A. Gilchrist was the contract administrator. This report is a summary of the work recently completed as part of this contract during the period April 1, 1996 to February 1, 1997. The author submitted this report on August 25, 1997.

CDR would like to acknowledge Jason Johnson for his assistance with data reduction and Dr. Win Watts for his extensive review of this report. Several other people also contributed to the project. Drew Wilson at Ecom America provided a portable analyzer for demonstration. Dennis Gaibler and Pete Forsyth at Atlas-Copco Wagner assisted with equipment testing at their facility, and Jozef Stachulak and the equipment technicians at Inco's Creighton Mine cooperated with CDR in the final field study.
