TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Highly flammable. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames, NO sparks, and NO smoking. NO contact with oxidants.
Powder, alcohol-resistant foam, water in large amounts, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Vapour/air mixtures are explosive. Risk of fire and explosion on contact with oxidants.
Closed system, ventilation, explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting. Do NOT use compressed air for filling, discharging, or handling.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
AVOID ALL CONTACT!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
•INHALATION Cough. Sore throat. See Notes.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer immediately for medical attention. ath'
•SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! See NOTES
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
First rinse with plenty of water, then remove contaminated clothes and rinse again. Refer immediately for medical attention.
 •EYES Redness. Pain.
Face shield and eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
 •INGESTION See NOTES
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Refer immediately for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Evacuate danger area! Consult an expert! Personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Collect leaking liquid in sealable containers. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT absorb in saw-dust or other combustible absorbents.
Fireproof. Separated from strong oxidants . Well closed. Store in an area without drain or sewer access.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS FUMING AND HYGROSCOPIC LIQUID , WITH PUNGENT ODOUR. TURNS YELLOW ON EXPOSURE TO

PHYSICAL DANGERS:
The vapour is heavier than air and may travel along the ground; distant ignition possible.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on burning producing toxic fumes including nitrogen oxides. The substance is a strong reducing agent and reacts with oxidants violently. Reacts violently with acids

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV not established.
MAK: skin absorption (H); sensitization of skin (Sh);
Carcinogen category: 2
(DFG 2006).

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful contamination of the air can be reached very quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20C.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is irritating to the eyes, and the respiratory tract. Exposure may result in death. not to select in analogy with ICSC#0281 (hydrazine) and ICSC#0147 (1,1-DMH) because insufficient substance specific data; ; LC50 (calc.) = 280-400 ppm (= 690 mg/m)

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The substance may have effects on the kidneys and liver , resulting in tissue lesions . This substance is probably carcinogenic to humans. in mice 5 months 1,6 mg/kg resulted pyelonephritis and interstitial nephritis. is target organ in several animal species: mice 0.75 mg/kg/day x 5 months

ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA
Environmental Hazard placard This substance may be hazardous in the environment; special attention should be given to fish.
N O T E S
Insufficient data are available on the effect of this substance on human health, therefore utmost care must be taken. Rinse contaminated clothes with plenty of water because of fire hazard. Environmental effects from the substance have not been investigated. Data on similar substances suggest that there may be environmental effects of this substance.
