TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames.
Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide .
EXPLOSION Finely dispersed particles form explosive mixtures in air.
Prevent deposition of dust; closed system, dust explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting. Prevent build-up of electrostatic charges (e.g., by grounding).

EXPOSURE

•INHALATION Sore throat. Cough. Burning sensation. Shortness of breath.
Breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Refer for medical attention.
 •SKIN Redness.
Protective gloves.
Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
 •EYES Redness. Pain. Burns
Safety goggles.
Rinse with plenty of water (remove contact lenses if easily possible). Refer immediately for medical attention.
 •INGESTION Sore throat. Burning sensation.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Give one or two glasses of water to drink.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles. Remove all ignition sources. Sweep spilled substance into containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment.
Separated from strong oxidants, strong acids, food and feedstuffs. Dry.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
WHITE HYGROSCOPIC CRYSTALS.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:
Dust explosion possible if in powder or granular form, mixed with air.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on burning producing toxic fumes including nitrogen oxides . The solution in water is a medium strong base. Reacts with strong oxidants and strong acids .

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV not established.
MAK not established.

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying or when dispersed, especially if powdered.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is severely irritating to the eyes and is irritating to the skin and the respiratory tract. cision not to select: lack of primary data on lung oedema (pH of saturated solution = 11.6 > GHS: lung oedema with pH<2 and pH>11.5).

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
