TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames.
Powder, alcohol-resistant foam, water spray, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION

EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST!

 •INHALATION Cough. Sore throat.
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest.
 •SKIN Redness.
Protective gloves.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
 •EYES Redness. Stinging.
Safety goggles, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
 •INGESTION
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!).
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Sweep spilled substance into containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles.
Separated from food and feedstuffs and incompatible materials . See Chemical Dangers. Dry. Well closed. Keep in a well-ventilated room.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
ODOURLESS WHITE CRYSTALS.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating or on burning producing toxic and corrosive fumes including hydrogen bromide and nitrogen oxides . Reacts with some metals, amines and alkaline compounds.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV not established.
MAK: IIb (not established but data is available) skin absorption (H); sensitization of skin (Sh); (DFG 2006).

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is irritating to the eyes , the skin and the respiratory tract .

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization.
