Percent contribution of the Self-employed among Total Employed workers for NORA Industry Sectors, 2008

Self-employed workers accounted for 10.1 million of the estimated 145.4 million workers employed in 2008. Disproportionately high percentages of the self-employed work in the Agricultural (39.7%) and Construction Industry sectors (16.6%).
