Adverse Reaction Case Definition Exercises
Summary
The goals of this session are to provide case definition training for Adverse Reactions reported in the Hemovigilance Module. These case definitions were developed by the Adverse Reaction Working Group and are based on International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) draft definitions. They are intended to provide blood transfusion service departments with standard definitions for transfusion reactions and were reviewed and approved by Adverse Reaction Working Group members, CDC, FDA, and HHS. Please be sure to read the protocol and use the Tables of Instructions until you are familiar with the form fields.
Audience: This training is designed for blood transfusion services personnel who will be collecting and/or entering information on blood transfusion recipient adverse reactions. Facilities can use these definitions regardless of NHSN participation.
