  The 2010 APIC Conference held in New Orleans, LA from July 12-15th was an opportunity for NHSN members to gather to hear the latest NHSN updates. Topics covered include: migration from digital certificate to password enabled registration for NHSN; changes to the confidentiality agreements between NHSN facilities and NHSN; status of future required on-line training; upcoming NHSN system changes; plans to make changes to the criteria only twice per year; NHSN data validation projects; updates on the Preventing Avoidable Infectious Complications by Adjusting Payment (PAICAP) and Preventing Nosocomial Infections and Cost Effectiveness (PNICE) programs. March 2010

  NHSN members attending the 5th Decennial International Conference on Healthcare-Associated Infections in March 2010, gathered together in Atlanta to hear updates on the following NHSN activities: Input and outreach to stakeholders/partners; NHSN infrastructure enhancements; use of electronic data sources; surveillance methodology; analysis and reporting; and opportunities to participate in research studies. These slides were used to facilitate the discussion.
