Office of the Director
Director of DPD Mark Eberhard
Welcome
At DPD, we live our mandate -- controlling and preventing parasitic diseases at home and abroad. We know that a safer, healthier America depends on a safer, healthier world. Dedicated DPD employees serve and collaborate with more than 100 partners in the United States and in more than 70 countries.
We are a broad-based team of dedicated professionals engaged in laboratory, epidemiologic, and clinical problems in parasitic diseases. DPD’s staff, including our cadre of Commissioned Corps Officers, serve America and the world as public health ambassadors.
With staff at two field stations -- Kenya and Guatemala -- and secondees at the World Health Organization in Geneva, the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and staff members in the field in Uganda, Tanzania, and Haiti, our valued staff is addressing the health and economic disparities imposed by the global burden of parasitic disease.
