Summary of Project
The Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH) proposes to continue funding for the Rhode Island Assessment Initiative for Data Dissemination (RI AIDD) Project. Housed in the Center for Health Data and Analysis (CHDA), the overall goal of RI AIDD is to augment the capacity of HEALTH and to promote the further use of public health data in public policy. RI AIDD intends to meet these objectives by improving an existing web-based data query system, HEALTH's Web Query System (WQS), which will increase the functionality and availability of public health data in Rhode Island, as well as allowing HEALTH employees to concentrate on other objectives. Modules exist for the RI Behavioral Risk Factor Survey (RI-BRFS) and the RI Youth Risk Behavior Survey (RI-YRBS) and modules are under development for RI Census data, RI Death data, and the Hospital Discharge Data Set. RI AIDD plans to add a Birth Data module in year 1 as well as updating the current and under development modules. Further modules will be added in an order prioritized by the steering committee. All new databases will comply with PHIN standards and all past databases will be updated to comply with PHIN standards.
