Syphilis (primary and secondary) - by race and ethnicity, United States, 1981-1996

Since 1990, the reported rates of primary and secondary syphilis for all racial and ethnic groups have declined. In 1995, however, the rate for non-Hispanic blacks (i.e., 30.2 per 100,000 population) was 50-fold greater than that for non-Hispanic whites.
