Phase One Milestones

  • Established a focal point for injury prevention and control within the state agency.
  • Formed an Injury Advisory Council.

 
Program Highlights

Technical assistance provided by the state:

  • Assisted the North Dakota Council on Abused Women Services with the development of a Violence Against Women State Strategic Plan.
  • Collaborated with State Trauma Council to enhance software capabilities of the State Trauma Registry to expand data collection and reporting capabilities.
  • Coordinated aspects of the transition of poison control coverage for the state from a non-certified poison control center to a regional certified poison control center.
  • Provided assistance during the revision of the State Health Claims Based Data System to include external cause codes.

Injury activities initiated within the state:

  • Developing injury surveillance tools to identify injuries within the state’s Native American population.
