Food Safety
The outcomes by the end of December 2005 are:
- Active surveillance data; detection of trends and peaks for potential and actual outbreaks
- Policies and protocol manuals in place for investigation and collection of specimens
- DEH response to outbreak within 24 hours; local capacity building in foodborne disease outbreak investigation methodology, collection and transport of food specimens, and reporting protocols
- Foodborne disease information packet
- Foodborne Reporting System; timely reporting of foodborne diseases from all over Palau including dispensaries in outlying states and private clinics;
- Palau's participation in EFORS; and reporting and notification system for the prevention of pandemic cholera and typhoid in Pacific Region.
