Activities Proposed for FY 05
Food Safety, Influenza Surveillance and Response, National Electronic Disease Surveillance System, West Nile Virus, and General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity
Key Performance Indicators
Food Safety
- Foodborne disease outbreaks will be identified in a timely manner.
- New laboratory equipment will be purchased.
Influenza Surveillance and Response
- Influenza isolates will include adequate numbers of samples and samples will be tested accurately and timely.
National Electronic Disease Surveillance System
- Progress will be measured in reference to the accuracy of disease surveillance statistics.
West Nile Virus
- Collection of WNV samples include adequate numbers of samples and samples will be tested accurately and timely.
General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity
- Laboratory tests will be validated by standard quality assurance procedures.
