Emerging Infectious Diseases is a peer-reviewed journal established expressly
to promote the recognition of new and reemerging infectious diseases around
the world and improve the understanding of factors involved in disease emergence,
prevention, and elimination.
Toward this mission we publish original articles reporting and commenting
on emerging infectious diseases from around the globe. Each year, Emerging
Infectious Diseases receives more than 1,800 manuscripts, approximately
1/3 of which are published.
A comprehensive set of resources and guides to help authors submit their manuscripts has been assembled below. For additional assistance contact the EID Editors at eideditor@cdc.gov. Manuscript status can be checked by logging into Manuscript Central.
Emerging Infectious Diseases strictly enforces word limits on all articles. Please allow some flexibility by submitting counts 100-200 words below the requirement so that as the manuscript is revised, information generated by reviewer comments can be included.
