National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)
Multidrug-resistant Organism (MDRO) and Clostridium difficile-Associated Disease (CDAD) Module
The MDRO and CDAD Module is part of the Patient Safety Component of the NHSN and will eventually be included in the Patient Safety Protocol. Roll out of the NHSN version that includes the MDRO and CDAD module is targeted for mid-summer 2008. This protocol and accompanying data collection instruments and instructions are being provided prior to release of the on-line system in order to assist facilities with the creation of processes and procedures for MDRO and CDAD monitoring in their institutions.
