NHANES III Reference Manuals and Report
The Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III) was conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics for 1988-94. The survey was designed to obtain nationally representative information on the health and nutritional status of the population of the United States.
The CD-ROM contains the following publications, manuals, and reports from the NHANES III: Plan and Operation of the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 1988-94, Analytic and Reporting Guidelines, Weighting and Estimation Methodology, and Accounting for Item Nonresponse Bias and Field Operations Reference Manual (by topic).
These reference manuals and reports can be viewed, searched, printed, and downloaded using the Adobe Acrobat software on the CD-ROM. Exception: The questionnaires, examination forms, and graphics are not searchable; however, they can be viewed, printed, or downloaded.
The CD-ROM disc is in ISO 9660 format and requires the following computer configurations:
Fully installed CD-ROM reader
A 386 or higher IBM compatible PC with
640 kilobytes of
memory, and at least 6 megabytes of free space on a hard
drive
4 MB of RAM
MS-DOS 3.1 or higher
VGA,
SVGA, or higher resolution display

2.11 or higher
