Hosted WHO Family of International
Classifications
Meeting in Bethesda, MD,
October 21-27, 2001
The North
American Collaborating Center (NACC) hosted the 2001 meeting of the
World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centers for the Family of
International Classifications on October 21-27, 2001,
at the Holiday Inn in Bethesda, Maryland. This year’s meeting launched the Family of International Classifications, which
encompasses the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and the
International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF).
Generous support for
this meeting came from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)/National Center for Health
Statistics (NCHS),
the Canadian Institute for Health Information, Statistics Canada, and the
Pan American Health Organization. Over 60 delegates attended, and
approximately 80 papers were prepared for discussion.
