According to the World Health Organization's Guidelines for Community
Noise, noise is an increasing public health problem. Noise can have the
following adverse health effects: hearing loss; sleep disturbances;
cardiovascular and psychophysiologic problems; performance reduction;
annoyance responses; and adverse social behavior.
