PACE EH Development
CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) and the National Association for County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) partnered to develop the Protocol for Assessing Community Excellence in Environmental Health (PACE EH). Representatives from federal agencies, academia, and research institutions, as well as local environmental health professionals and community organizers were also involved in the process. The protocol was also pilot tested by local health departments before it was finalized.
Many communities continue to use PACE EH as a way to involve their communities in making decisions about environmental health. Explore these resources and consider undertaking a PACE EH project in your community.
