Conference Goals:
- Prepare the
public health workforce for the environmental public health
challenges of the 21st century
- Promote the
need for an all-hazards approach to preparedness and response that
encompasses terrorism, natural disasters, and other environmental
challenges
- Promote the
development of emerging environmental public health leaders
Objectives:
Identify the
environmental public health challenges of the 21st century
Enhance the
development of current and next generations of environmental
public health leaders
Promote the
development and application of disease prevention and terrorism
preparedness and response strategies on the basis of research and
best practices
Develop and
strengthen working relationships among federal, state, tribal, and
local government agencies; national organizations and
associations; policy makers and planners; academic institutions,
business and industry, advocacy- and community-based
organizations; and others
Attendees:
This conference is designed to address the needs and
interests of a broad range of environmental public health and other
public health professionals and colleagues who represent government,
academia, business and industry, and other partners. New and
emerging leaders are encouraged to attend this conference. An
estimated 1,000 attendees are expected to include--
Environmental
public health and other public health practitioners and
professionals at federal, state, tribal, and local levels,
including those responsible for terrorism and natural disaster
preparedness and response activities

and students from schools of public health and universities and
