Speaker Notes

An alternate method to obtain BMI is to use the CDC Table for Calculated Body Mass Index Values for Selected Heights and Weights for Ages 2 to 20. This is available in an 8.5 x 11 inch format or a checkbook size format that you see here. These can be printed from the growth chart Web site (http://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts).

Selected BMIs are calculated from heights that range 29 to 78 in. and the corresponding centimeters; and from weights ranging from 18 to 250 pounds and the corresponding kilograms.
