Spanish-Language Radio Public Service Announcements (PSAs)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed a 30-second and a 60-second radio public service announcement (PSA) in Spanish to increase awareness of newborn screening for hearing loss, encourage parents to follow up if a loss is identified, and promote the availability of intervention services among Hispanic audiences.

PSA Title:
La evaluación de la audición en los recién nacidos es importante para su desarrollo (Newborn Hearing Screening Is Important for Development)

60-second PSA (Spanish): [download audio | listen to audio | read transcript]

About Tags
These radio PSAs have a version for organizations or programs to add information, called a “tag.” This allows the opportunity to raise awareness of your organization or program and to establish your organization or program as “the” local resource for parents to receive help if their child has a hearing loss. At the end of the taggable radio PSAs, there is a 10-second window to record information. Radio stations should easily be able to help you customize these versions.

Information you can add as a tag:
  • Organization name
  • Organization phone number
  • Organization Web site
  • Organization event listings
