Metropolitan Atlanta Congenital Defects Program (MACDP), in collaboration with the Metropolitan Atlanta Developmental Disabilities Surveillance Program (MADDSP) will hold a Joint Partners’ Meeting on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring and Prevention in Georgia. The meeting will take place on October 16, 2009 at the Centers for Disease Control’s Roybal Campus, Atlanta, GA. The meeting will highlight birth defects and developmental disabilities across the lifespan, and will be an opportunity to discuss future directions in monitoring and prevention to improve the lives of children in Georgia.

Featured presentations will highlight:

  • Past and present local surveillance, research, and prevention activities
  • Local collaborative projects, including transition outcomes
  • National surveillance and research programs
  • Morbidity and other life-long health surveillance needs
  • Future directions of public health activities
