National AG Safety Disc materials author. For the past
15 years, the staff of the New York Center for Ag Medicine
and Health (NYCAMH) have worked in agricultural safety
and health. Areas of particular interest include allergic
and respiratory disease, hearing loss, arthritis, emotional
distress and suicide, tractor safety, skin cancer, design
of effective educational tools and prevention techniques.
Resources include an information specialist and extensive
library of scientific papers, books, videotapes and teaching
slides. A recently published game for children and adolescents,
"Play It Safe" has been shown to be an effective educational
tool. The Northeast Center is NIOSH designated with responsibility
for Northeastern states.
