Henry P. Cole is a professor of educational counseling
Psychology and of Preventive Medicine and Environmental
Health.psychology and preventive medicine and environmental
health (jointappointment) He teaches graduate courses
andconducts research in educational psychology, theories
of learning, thinkingand problem solving, instructional
program design and evaluation, andbehavioral occupational
safety and health. Expert in adult and continuingeducation
and the design of simulation exercises that teach and
test problemsolving and decision making skills to prevent
injury events. Has designedand evaluated simulation exercises
for miners, health care providers,firefighters, farm workers
and families, engineers and many other workers.These materials
are used throughout the U.S. and internationally. Appointeda
behavioral safety expert for the United Nations, International
LaborOrganization in 1993. His current research is primarily
in the area ofcommunity education interventions to prevent
agricultural injury andillness.
