Vincent R. Hill, PhD

Environmental Engineer (Research), Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases, NCEZID

 

Vincent Hill, PhD is a research environmental engineer in CDC’s Waterborne Disease Prevention Branch (WDPB) and the team lead for the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Laboratory Team. Dr. Hill’s work as principal investigator for WDPB’s Environmental Microbiology Laboratory focuses on the development and application of environmental sampling methods, microbial detection methods, and treatment technologies for water and wastewater systems, including recreational water venues. 

Dr. Hill joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2003 and became a team lead in 2010. He is a licensed professional engineer in Civil Engineering. Dr. Hill received his PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Public Health in 2001 and his MSE in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1991. He is an author of more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, scientific reports, and patents focused on environmental microbiology and engineering.
