Purpose
The purpose of this solicitation is to announce the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2008 funds to support one cooperative agreement to field test the Acute Concussion Evaluation (ACE) and Care Plan. The proposed study will evaluate the feasibility of implementing the ACE within an organized medical care system (e.g. emergency departments, family practice clinics, etc.). This program addresses the “Healthy People 2010” focus area(s) of Injury and Violence Prevention. Measurable outcomes of the program will be in alignment with one (or more) of the following performance goal(s) for the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control: Conduct a targeted program of research to reduce injury-related death and disability.
