FOA Title: The Impact of Traumatic Brain Injury Among Incarcerated Persons
Purpose
The purpose of the program is to announce the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2007 funds to support one cooperative agreement to investigate the prevalence of a history of traumatic brain injury and related problems among adults in state or federal prisons. The purpose of this solicitation is to show the potential for identification and assessment of traumatic brain injury to inform programs to improve the health of incarcerated persons and increase their potential for successful reintegration into the community. This program addresses the “Healthy People 2010” focus area(s) of Injury and Violence Prevention. Measurable outcomes of the program will be in alignment with one (or more) of the following performance goal(s) for the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control: Conduct a targeted program of research to reduce injury-related death and disability.
