Purpose
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2004 funds to inform violence prevention efforts by testing the extent to which potentially modifiable sociocultural and community risk and protective factors are associated with child maltreatment and early risk factors for youth violence. This program addresses the “Healthy People 2010” focus area of Injury and Violence Prevention.
Measurable outcomes of the program will be in alignment with one of the performance goals for the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control: Conduct a targeted program of research to reduce injury-related death and disability.
