Purpose
The purpose(s) of the program are (1)to improve state injury surveillance capacity through the implementation of the Consensus Recommendations For Injury Surveillance In State Health Departments, September 1999 Report, and (2) to support the integration of population-based IPV surveillance systems into existing injury surveillance systems that will help determine the magnitude of IPV in population subgroups, and continued revision and testing of uniform definitions and recommended data elements.
