The HIV/AIDS Surveillance Supplemental Report
is published by the Surveillance Branch of the Division of HIV/AIDS
Prevention—Surveillance and Epidemiology, National Center for HIV,
STD, and TB Prevention, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Data are presented on AIDS cases reported to CDC through June 30, 2001,
by state and metropolitan area. The data were made available to the
Health Resources and Service Administration for the allocation of Ryan
White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act funds. Also
presented are estimates (computed by three methods) of the number of
persons living with AIDS. All data contained in this report are provisional.
