
The Capacity Building Branch is focused on improving the performance of
the HIV prevention workforce by increasing the knowledge, skills,
technology, and infrastructure to implement and sustain science-based,
culturally appropriate interventions and HIV prevention strategies . To
accomplish its mission, CBB provides national leadership, capacity
building assistance, and funds
capacity building partnerships.
CBB works through the activities of its teams, including:
 Branch Operations Support Services Team
Provides administrative, editorial, personnel, budget, procurement and
data management service and assists other CBB teams in accomplishing
their respective goals.
 Partnerships Team
Provides national leadership and oversight to capacity building
partnerships and advancing HIV prevention among populations at high risk
for HIV infection.
 Science Application Team
Helps agencies and health departments improve the science base of HIV
prevention services by applying the techniques of behavioral and social
science and evaluation.
 Training and Development Team
Develops, delivers, and coordinates capacity building activities related
to training, health education and professional development.
