Pre-Application Technical Assistance Workshops

The Pre-Application workshops are open to all potential applicants and will provide a full day of intensive, on-site technical assistance tailored towards understanding the funding opportunity announcement (FOA) requirements and completing the application submission process. During the workshops, representatives from the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, Prevention Program Branch (PPB), Capacity Building Branch (CBB), Program Evaluation Branch (PEB), and CDC’s Procurement and Grants Management Office (PGO) will provide comprehensive presentations on the specific FOA program requirements, capacity building assistance, eligibility requirements, budget development, and the application submission processes. The workshops will also afford potential applicants the opportunity to ask CDC representatives specific questions related to the FOA. Attendance at the workshops is not required. There will be on-site registration for each workshop.

Presentations identical to those provided by CDC representatives during the Pre-Application Technical Assistance workshops will be recorded and for viewing by potential applicants. CBA Grant Writing Training Series

Capacity Building Assistance Grant Writing Training Objectives:

By the end of the CBA Grant Writing Training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and identify the basic structure and key elements of a grant proposal.
  • Develop a plan for conceptualizing, writing, reviewing, and evaluating grant applications.
  • Learn how to develop and write SMART goals and objectives.
  • Develop an appropriate budget narrative and justification.
  • Discuss strategies for effective grant writing.

*Organizations are strongly encouraged to attend the grant writing training in their area.
