The Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) is a federal advisory committee assembled to provide advice and guidance to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding the practice of infection control and strategies for surveillance, prevention, and control of healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial resistance and related events in United States healthcare settings. Draft SSI Guideline: Public Comment Period Now Closed
The Draft Guideline for Prevention of Surgical Site Infections public comment period closed on February 28. CDC would like to thank all of those who submitted comments for consideration. CDC is currently compiling and reviewing all comments and will discuss the comments at the April HICPAC meeting to get input from the Committee.
