Figure 4.3. Incidence rates of acute hepatitis C decreased dramatically for both males and females from 1992 through 2004 and remained fairly constant from 2005 through 2009. Rates for males declined faster than rates for females and by 2004, the rates were nearly equal. In 2009, rates for males and females were both estimated at 0.3 cases per 100,000 population.
