PECAT: PE Teacher Professional Preparation Manual
To help future physical education teachers understand how they can use the PECAT to analyze and improve physical education curricula, CDC developed a free training guide, Physical Education Curriculum Analysis Tool: A Guide for Physical Education Teacher Preparation Programs in Institutions of Higher Education.
The guide and accompanying presentation materials are designed for use by college and university instructors in physical education professional teacher preparation programs. The lessons can be used for upper-division undergraduate, pre-service courses that focus on physical education curricula and instruction, as well as for graduate-level physical education courses.
Five lessons introduce students to the knowledge and skills needed to analyze a written physical education curriculum and strengthen their preparedness for teaching physical education in schools.
