Today, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), are responsible for 7 out of 10 of deaths worldwide, with 85% of premature NCD deaths occurring in low- and middle-income countries. NCDs also play a key role in outbreak preparedness and global health security. Along with our global partners, CDC is working to reduce the impact of NCDs like cardiovascular disease, cancer, and chronic respiratory disease.
