Integrated Food Safety Centers of Excellence Updates

Minnesota Integrated Food Ssfety Centers of Excellence Logo

CDC’s five Integrated Food Safety Centers of Excellence (Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Oregon, and Tennessee) are making headway as resources for responders of foodborne illness and outbreaks by focusing efforts on six main activity areas:

  1. Strengthen surveillance and outbreak investigations.
  2. Analyze timeliness and effectiveness of responses.
  3. Train public health staff in proven investigative techniques.
  4. Educate future food safety workforce.
  5. Improve capacity of information systems.
  6. Evaluate and communicate best practices.
