Activity: National Influenza Vaccination Disparities Partnership (NIVDP) Meeting
Description: An enthusiastic group of Latino health leaders convened March 4-5, 2012 in San Francisco, California to provide guidance on outreach and sustainability strategies for the NIVDP. Participants generated insightful outreach recommendations to connect with migrant workers, pregnant women, and people living with chronic diseases.
Evaluation: Partners pledged to continue promotion for vaccination uptake by pushing forward with planning health fairs for the next flu season and placing orders for CDC influenza materials well before the flu season begins. Partners also pledged to link the CDC partnership portal to their organization’s website.

Description: Prescribe Wellness is launching a quarterly population health initiative to encourage individuals to take the small necessary steps for better health. This fall, Prescribe Wellness will support 1,000 communities with a goal of getting 1,000 extra participants in each community immunized against the flu: A Million More.

Activity: Flu Season Awareness Night at Washington Nationals Baseball Game
Description: The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) will be hosting a Flu Season Awareness Night at the Washington Nationals Baseball Game! Flu Awareness Night activities include: NFID public service announcement (“Are You That Guy?”) will be featured on the jumbotron 30 minutes before the game; a welcome message on the scoreboard; reserved group of discounted field level seats available via customized online purchase page (www.nationals.com/flu) with a portion of ticket sales being donated to NFID; and staff at the community kiosk distributing educational materials and vouchers for flu vaccines at Harris Teeter stores.
